Genealogical consultancy is available as an optional extra for those who wish to take their search beyond the existing internet sites. Mr Johnston has particular expertise in the Clogher Valley and border counties. Reference facilities on site include maps, gravestone inscriptions, local directories, estate records and valuation data. Extended runs of The Clogher Record, Breifne, Duiche Neill, Clan McKenna Journal, Familia and The Bell are available for consultation. Card indexes cover 40 years of research into local families. Site visits to ancestral homes can be arranged. Consultancy rates on application.

Clogher Historical Society/Cumann Seanchais Chlochair promotes local history in the counties of Fermanagh, Monaghan, South Tyrone and parts of South Donegal and West Louth (Clogher Diocese). The Society holds a genealogical archive of material relating to Monaghan families.
The Mellon Centre for Migration Studies is located at the Ulster American Folk Park, Omagh. It is a research library which collects material relating to the history of the peoples of Ireland worldwide. Visitors have access to a reference collection and to the Centre’s Irish Emigration Database.
Irish World is based in Dungannon and is the Irish Family History Foundation centre for counties Tyrone and Fermanagh. It provides a subscription database for genealogical research in Tyrone and Fermanagh.
The Ulster Historical Foundation is a long-established, highly reputable research and publishing agency. It offers extensive knowledge on the sources available for tracing Irish and Scots-Irish ancestors.
